The What-If Blueprintby Nikhil Kasturi

A point of view by Nikhil Kasturi

What if business processes were designed for agents first?

Most business processes were built for people, paper and spreadsheets, with AI added as an afterthought. Every redesign here starts with the actual process itself. I map how the process runs today, pinpoint where it breaks, and rebuild it as an agentic ecosystem: which agents do the work, where people make the decisions, and what the business gains.

What each process page covers

Every page is built in two stages. The baseline is live for all 162 processes. The redesign sections fill in as each What-If redesign is published.

Stage 1: The baseline

Live
  1. What it doesA two-line summary of the function and why the business depends on it.
  2. The traditional flowA diagram of the steps as they run today. Click it to open full screen and zoom.
  3. Where it breaksThe main pain point an agent ecosystem would target.

Stage 2: The What-If redesign

Coming soon
  1. Tools in use todayThe systems, spreadsheets and handoffs this process relies on in a typical organization.
  2. Pain points in depthEach pain point broken down: where it happens, who feels it, and what it costs in time, errors or risk.
  3. Today's critical user journeyWho touches the process, in what order, and where delays and errors creep in.
  4. The What-If agent ecosystemA named roster of agents, each with one responsibility, plus the orchestration diagram and the human checkpoints.
  5. The new critical user journeyThe same journey redesigned around the agents: what changes for each person and where they still step in.
  6. Before and afterA side-by-side comparison of the traditional flow and the agentic redesign.
  7. How each pain point gets solvedEvery pain point mapped to the agent or checkpoint that removes it.
  8. Business outcomesThe generic business outcomes this redesign could drive. Any figures are illustrative estimates, never measured results.
